Team Line Up Before kick-Off

Now Famous Ventnor Team Huddle !!
Its some five years since we last won the Junior "A" Cup final (2005), but that didnt count as we besieged the West Wight (Res) goal from the start.

Early Chance For Ventnor
There was barely five minutes on the board when we chased down the West Wight defender forcing him to slot the ball into the back of his own net......great start 1-0 !!

Graham Parsons Covers The Back
We continued to push forward keeping them hemmed in at the back. A few more chances fell our way before Jamie Treadwell grabbed the ball and smashed it into the back of the net....2-0 !!

Half Time Smile From Jamie
In for the break and a mild team-talk from Mank set the lads in the right frame of mind for the second 45 minutes, which saw "H" come on in place of "Barbs".

Start Of The Second Half
Good move by "Mank" as "H" settled straight into the game, and with his dynamite pace grabbed the ball just five minutes into the half took on two defenders and smashed the ball into the back of the net for 3-0 !!

GC In Motion
At 3-0 we began to spread the ball around the park in style, and kept possession very well. A dashing run from striker "Spence" saw him crash into the hoardings at full pace sending him flying over the barrier !! A move which prompted manager "Mank" to bring on Joe Mackenzie in his place just five minutes later.

Jeering The Opposition
With Joe in place we seemed to get ourselves organised very quickly and soon began to put our opponents under pressure when "Super Sub" Harry Mullholland grabbed the ball, gracefully rounded both defenders but crashed the ball wide & high !!

Website Man Of The Match Jamie Treadwell with Gray Parsons
At the final whistle an overjoyed Ventnor side went wild, celebrating almost immediately !! A party which lasted way into Friday morning !! Man of the match award from the ground went to former Brading star Liam Mullholland, and although we agree he was as strong as an oxx it was Jamie Treadwell that had caught the eye for the "Website Man Of The Match"
All-in-all a great game of football won by the side that has deserved success all season, Ventnor FC. Success that we hope to repeat at Watcombe Bottom on Saturday where we host league favourites Brading Town (Res) in our league title showdown !!
