Past Match Report
After the 5-0 thumping of Cowes on Saturday we came into this game on a massive high and boy did it tell. As with Saturday we started the match as we meant to go on....."In Charge" !!
First to make his mark was our top goalscorer Charlie Urry who after a few near misses launched an attack on the pitiful Brightstone back-line and cracking the opener into the back of a large-looking net for 1-0.

Out For The Match
Again we were at em from the restart, keeping constant pressure on with some dynamic flowing football. It wasnt long before we broke them down again when Callum Trueman made it 2-0 around the twenty minute mark.
With the ageing Brightstone eleven beginning to puff and blow after half an hour our fitness soon began to take its toll. Heads sagged, passes became half-hearted until up popped the Brightstone number 11, who although looking way into his forties smashed a screamer at Timmy "D" for another contender of goal of the season. Match 2-1 and seemingly still open !!

Billy Thompson In Action
Ventnor were having none of it. We were at em again right from the start. Form merchant Harry Mulholland was next-up, who after a blinding first half-hour stepped through the Brightstone defence to slot home number three ahead of the half-time whistle.
Team-talk from "Mank" was simple. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!
With thoughts ahead to the Alton Town game on Saturday "Mank" made some tactical substitutions firstly bringing off Liam Mulholland with a "dead-leg" for Tom Squires, then protecting Saturday squad members Dave Sampson & Gray Parsons who were swapped for new signings Blaize Franklin & Kenny Cuthbert.

Half Time Oranges
Without rattling on too much we were too good for em in this one. Second half was pretty much the same as the first......constant pressure !!
The same scorers in the first half (Urry, H, Callum) each got a second in the final 45 minutes eventually wrapping the game up by SIX goals to one !!

Mr Thompson Again - With Crown Jewels In Hand
Wessex League football surely beckons for the Ventnor FC first team should we keep this form up all season. Every player in every position is playing on top of their form right now. Games are a joy to watch, long may it continue !!
With so many contenders again for "Website Man Of The Match" its been a tough call, but for all-round contributions to the game the award goes to...........Jake Balantyne. A joy to watch, keep it up son !!
